MUSIC DEPARTMENTAL INFORMATION

BEFORE YOU PERFORM
Of course, you must have this performance cleared by your private teacher AND don't assume your accompanist will be there ready to go.  PLEASE discuss your plans to perform with your accompanist at least one week before the departmental.

FORMS
Everyone who plans to perform in a departmental must complete a "Information Form" and send it to Dr. Doug Barlar by noon on the day of the departmental.  Please be sure to fill in all of the information.

DRESS
Although not formal, anyone performing should be in "nice Sunday dress".  Dresses, skirts or nice pants for women as well as coat and tie for men is acceptable.  Jeans, flip-flops and other casual dress is not acceptable.

AUDIENCE
Because departmentals are open to the public, "concert dress" is in effect.  So, no jeans, flip flops or tee-shirts as audience members.

RECITAL ATTENDANCE
Departmentals do count towards your required recital attendance.  Of course, you must be on time and not leave before the end of the concert.  Please be sure to fill out your "recital attendance cards"!
