Minor in Music

A minor in Music consists of at least 22 hours of basic Music courses. Below is a sample plan that emphasizes Theory, History, and Performance. Other configurations of the minor may be developed in consultation with the Music Department Chair to fit the interests of the student.

Sample Plan

Theory (8 Hours)
Music Theory I: 3 Hours
Aural Theory I: 1 Hour
Music Theory II: 3 Hours
Aural Theory II: 1 Hour
History (6 Hours)
Intro to Music Lit: 3 Hours
Choice of 1 Music History: 3 Hours
Performance (6 Hours)
Principal Applied Lessons: 4 Hours total (2 semesters)
Recital Attendance: 0 Hours (2 semesters -- required w/ Lessons)
Primary Ensemble: 2 Hours total (2 semesters)
Additional Electives (at least 2 Hours)
